Singithi Sarana (Sri Lanka) was formed at the behest of its sister organisation Children Of Lanka (UK) in 2001 after 6 friends from Sri Lanka and the UK were moved by the plight of financially disadvantaged children from remote villages in Sri Lanka.

Working with children who are victims of abject poverty we have realised that these children have a real need to obtain a good education however hard and traumatic their lives are. With this in mind both Singithi Sarana and Children Of Lanka have fully dedicated their dedicated their resources to providing these children with a good education which will hold them in good stead for the future.

Our mission is to provide the financially disadvantage children in rural village with the necessary equipment and access to schooling so that they can earn an education.

Our vision is that while educating these children they will contribute to their community by being responsible and accountable citizens.

Our Goal is to empower them for the future thereby removing them from the equation: lack of education = a lifetime of poverty and hardship.

We at Singithi Sarana and Children of Lanka have come to realize that the work we have undertaken is a mere drop in the ocean, however the quality of life for the children we help has increased tremendously. Each year when we visit the children, we see to ourselves how much these children value our small gestures. Their innocent faces with their radiant smiles and shining eyes is our incentive to further carry out this work. We are an extremely small charity but are proud of the happiness and joy we can bring to others.. If we can harness more people to contribute and help us with our work we will greatly appreciate it.
